Friday the 13th at the WPT Decathlon Amsterdam Open was by no means an unlucky day for the entire top three seedings in the women's tournament. The duos Josemaria/Sanchez, Triay/Ortega and Gonzalez/Brea easily made it to the semi-finals, where they will be joined by Osoro/Castello, number 6 on the ranking list. On the men's side, rankings 2 to 5 won their quarter-finals.

The world's best padel players of the moment, Josemaria and Sanchez, kicked off against the highly experienced, 47-year-old former world number 1 Navarro and her partner Guinart on the centre court at AFAS Live in the morning. The first set went evenly and ended in 7-5, but the second was a resounding 6-0. AFAS Live was packed with padel fans before this first quarterfinal and they came to draw until late in the afternoon. In the last match of the afternoon, the number 5 on the men's ranking list -Tello and Ruiz- defeated 6-3, 6-4 the duo Arroyo/Rubio, who had surprisingly eliminated the global number 1 Coello and Tapia in the first round.

Tello and Ruiz will take on Chingotto and 'Paquito' Navarro in the semi-finals on Saturday. They quickly dealt with Chilean world number 67 Valdez and Spanish global number 75 Sanchez in their quarterfinal on Friday evening; winning twice 6-2. The third duo to reach the semi-finals were Argentines Stupaczuk and Di Nenno, seeded 2nd at the WPT Decathlon Amsterdam Open. They defeated Belluati -also from Argentina, ranking #35- and Ruiz (Spain, #32) in three sets. In the semi-finals on Saturday, they will meet Galan and Lebron, who had a tough match late on Friday evening against the Argentines Gutierrez/Gutierrez: 3-6, 6-1 and 6-4. So the number 2 to 5 on the men's singles ranking list will be in the semifinals on Saturday.
